At last night’s Houston Addy Awards, Sunnova’s “Go Solar. Save Money.” animation brought home a gold Addy Award for Rivet, Acme Fish, Wire Road, and Paper Brain. This was one of my favorite projects I worked on last year, so I’m really excited it was recognized by the AAF. I love how effortless and concise Lou Congelio’s copy is for the video. It rolls off the tongue so easily. It gave me the idea of pairing something retro with something new. I dig the cartoon character design of the 1950’s, and had never seen it paired up with the cut-out paper animation technique I enjoy using so much. I’m glad everyone liked the idea as much as I did. I’m grateful it was recognized by the Addys, and I’m grateful for all the great people I worked with that made the video a success for Sunnova.
